Amerex hosts McWane Plumbing Group Safety Managers Conference

The annual Group Safety Manager’s Conference for the Plumbing Group plus Amerex was held April 2-3, 2019 with Amerex serving as the host facility. Over the 2 days the Safety Managers from each of the 7 facilities in the Group were able to share programs and best practices to learn from each other. In addition to several round tables & working sessions on subjects such as near-miss reporting, safety scorecards, and assessing the state of a facility/company safety culture the agenda included several guest speakers. Betty Grogan, Director – Learning & Development coached the team on talent assessment & development, Tony Orlowski & Josh Gunning (GM & Safety Manager from M&H Valve) shared their program of evaluating a worker’s/supervisor’s state of safety compliance & awareness, Mickey Hannum, VP Health & Safety discussed the path forward for the corporate safety program, and Jon Pollard & Harrison Bishop (Plant Manager & President – Amerex) covered the state of the business & challenges currently facing Amerex. After a full 2-day agenda, the Team was able to unwind and enjoy dinner and some fun at TopGolf in downtown Birmingham.
