Maureen Kamphaus named OSHA Special Government Employee (SGE)

On November 15, Clow Valve Health & Safety Manager, Maureen Kamphaus completed the SGE training course in Arlington, TX and was sworn in as a Special Government Employee with OSHA. The role of the SGE is to assist OSHA in performing VPP audits as well as participate in OSHA outreach and compliance activities. The benefit to McWane of having SGE’s is the ability to learn best practices from other organizations and bring them back to our sites allowing for further improvement to worker protection.

Maureen commented, “Serving as an SGE is quite an honor and a privilege. As a health and safety professional this is one more way to help in keeping America’s work force safe. Just as with employers, the American worker is one of our country’s greatest resources. I am proud to serve my country, McWane, and Clow in this capacity. I am grateful to McWane and Clow for affording me this opportunity.”
