McWane team attends 2019 VPPPA National Symposium

McWane was a proud sponsor of the 2019 Voluntary Protection Program Participants Association (VPPPA) National Symposium held in New Orleans. The National Symposium featured integration of safety and health management systems. A strong commitment to the Voluntary Protection Program was illustrated by having multiple McWane team members attending the symposium along with the sponsorship. 

“To sum up my experience at the VPPPA conference is quite simple, it was an eye-opening experience for me. Safety has obviously always been there for me and in my mind, but I was able to stop and look at the bigger picture. I realized throughout the many great stories that I heard during the conference that it could’ve easily been ME in any of those situations. I’d like to think I am 10ft Tall and Bulletproof but in all reality I’m just a normal human being. Safety has its place in the workplace, but also need to keep in mind that employees know how to do their job better than anyone, and that they don’t want to go home any different than the way they left it.”

“The National conference was a great time. The speakers were great and motivated. One of the classes I went to was “how an accident can change the lives of people around you”. An that’s something we don’t always think about in everyday stuff. The impact of what you do affects everyone around you. I learned a lot and hope to go back sometime.”
