August 19, 2019
Malcolm Morriss, Tyler Union’s longtime Quality Manager, passed away on July 22, 2019. Malcolm’s career spanned over 30 years with McWane, as he began his career with Tyler Pipe in March 1988, as a Quality Supervisor, then transferred to Tyler Union in May 2009, and assumed the role of Quality Manager. Anyone who knew Malcolm, understood he was passionate about Quality and understood its impact, good and bad, on exceptional customer service through product presentation and performance. Malcolm was a wealth of knowledge when it came to what a quality ductile iron pipe fitting should look like. He was also instrumental in Tyler Union becoming ISO 9001:2015 registered and adopting the Quality management system and standards. Malcolm excelled when it came to ISO inspections, ensuring that everyone involved in them was thoroughly prepared to do their part. Malcolm was a consummate Quality professional, and he will be greatly missed.
